Bronx Science Graduation Requirements and Regents Exams
New York State Regents Exams Schedule Students at Bronx Science are required to take:
Freshmen Year Biology Algebra (if M2 is completed by June) Geometry (if M4 is completed by June)
Sophomore YearGlobal Studies Math B (if M$6 is completed by June)- June 2010 will be the last Math B Regents Geometry Algebra2/Trigonometry (if M6 is completed by June)
Foreign Language (if third year of language will be complete in June of sophomore year) Chemistry
Junior Year English PhysicsUS History Math B or Foreign Language if not completed as of yet Algebra2/Trigonometry
Senior Year Typically students take AP exams in May
Graduation Requirements at Bronx Science
English – 4 years at Bronx Science
Social Studies – 4 years at Bronx Science
Laboratory Science – 4 years at Bronx Science (Every student must take at least one biology course at Bronx Science. If a student took biology in Junior High School, s/he must take an elective or advanced placement biology course, such as Epidemiology or AP Biology, in junior year).
Mathematics – 3 years at Bronx Science, however, we STRONGLY recommend taking 4 years of math at Bronx Science.
Foreign Language – 3 years of the same language (2 years at Bronx Science is allowed if one year was taken in Junior High School). However, we STRONGLY recommend taking 4 years of foreign language at Bronx Science.
2 of the 3 following classes: TTD, TAS (STL), MICS
OR
Sophomore Research – 1 year
Art Appreciation & Music Appreciation – ½ year of each (OR student takes 1 year of an Art class, such as Photography or AP Art History or 1 year of performing music such as Concert Band or Chorus).
Health – ½ year
Physical Education – 4 years
Elective 1 “Senior Year”– 1 year (Science or Math)
Elective 2 “Senior Year”– 1 year (Any 5th major)
